Local telephone service is paid in advance, so your first invoice includes charges for the partial month from your start date to the beginning of your billing period, plus one month that is prepaid. Your first invoice will show both periods separately to make it easier to understand. If you were current with your previous provider, you should receive a refund from them for the partial month that you had prepaid but not used. Following the initial bill, your invoice will cover one month’s worth of service.
